Frank Perez Jr.
Francisco Perez Jr. is a native of San Diego, CA. He is currently a conducting associate for the The University of Kansas Bands where he is pursuing his doctoral studies in wind band conducting. Frank enjoyed eight years of successful high school teaching in Southern California. His groups there earned numerous awards and superior ratings at both district and regional festivals. Frank is also active as a parade adjudicator and band clinician. In 2001 he presented a lecture in music technology and served as a clinician for the California Music Educator’s State Conference. Frank has been honored by Who’s Who Among American Teachers, Who’s Who In America, Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lamda Honor Fraternities and Blue Key National Honor Society. He has studied conducting with Dr. Scott Weiss, Tom Stidham, Hans Beer, John Barnett and attended seminars with Eugene Corporon, Dennis Fisher, Jack Stamp, John Malstester, William Wakefield and Victor Malkovich.
Frank has performed with ensembles such as the USC Symphony, USC Opera, USC Symphonic Wind Ensemble, KU Wind Ensemble, Southeast Symphony, L.A. Symphonic Camerata, L.A. Guild Opera, La Jolla Symphony, St. Joseph Symphony, Bones West, and The Golden State British Brass Band. He currently plays trombone with the Sunflower Brass Quintet.
In addition to being a freelance musician and clinician, Frank also runs a business dedicated to on-location recording, website design and Macintosh consulting.
